FBU
The FBU plays its part in the Trades Union Congress (TUC)
At the 2005 Congress fellow trade unionists supported the FBU’s call for the reintroduction of a national emergency response standards for the fire and rescue service and at a campaign meeting on the conference “fringe” we won support for our campaign against regional emergency fire controls. The FBU also joined with other trade unions calling a fair deal on pensions and backed a campaign led by MP John McDonnell, secretary of the FBU parliamentary group, for a Trade Union Freedom Bill.
We are currently involved in a range of campaigns in co-operation with the TUC and affiliates, working in solidarity with working people and trade unionists here and abroad.
The FBU has a voice too in the Scottish, Welsh and Irish trades union congresses.
