Structure
This is based upon areas and levels of responsibility in a similar fashion to the Fire Service structure. The FBU member is the most important element of the FBU structure. Members & officials must remember this fact: THE MEMBERSHIP ARE THE UNION.
One step on from the member is the Branch
In Berkshire the Branches meet at Brigade Committee
Brigade Committees from a region meet at Regional Committee
The regions come together with representatives at the national Executive Council
Six elected paid officials work from Head Office
Berkshire is a branch of Region 12.
The governing body of the FBU is the annual conference. The union’s policy is decided by delegates elected from branches, regions and the union’s sections. Policies decided at conference are carried out by the Executive Council (EC), elected from the regions and the sections.
